Moving Forward in a New Light

Important Changes at JST Coaching

As Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, we set our clocks back an hour. While we “gain” an hour, the transition can be tricky. Overcoming darker days has always been a challenge for me, so when the time shifts, I rely on my Happy Light to start each morning brightly, bringing energy and focus to the work ahead.

This season, as the clocks fall back, JST Coaching & Training is moving forward in a powerful new direction – and I wanted you to hear it from me first.

Effective January 2027, Empowering Students Through Coaching (our ICF Level 1 training) will no longer be offered.

Over the past year, I have spent time reflecting on what truly brings me joy and how the JST team can share our experience in student and neurodiversity coaching for the greatest possible impact. If there was ever a time when student coaching was urgently needed, that time is now.

Colleges and universities are facing steep budget cuts and staff shortages. Meanwhile, students are struggling with transition, overwhelm, and the rigorous demands of higher education. I’ve never been comfortable in the spotlight and have often downplayed my role in shaping the field of ADHD student coaching. But the truth is, I was the pioneer of the ADHD student coaching niche back in the 1990s, developing programs and workshops to support students around the globe. I have been an active member of the Association for Higher Education and Disabilities (AHEAD) since 2011 and in recent years made a personal commitment to expand coach training directly into higher education and K–12 systems to support students with challenges.

I refuse to give up on the countless students today who struggle to be seen and heard, go undiagnosed, or turn to self-medication just to get through each term.

Where We Are Headed

To make the biggest difference where it matters most, JST Coaching & Training will focus its reach on institutions.

We will continue offering Student Success Coaching for Higher Education Professionals through both public and private training. Our mission is to empower disability resource professionals, staff, and educators with actionable skills to support neurodivergent students navigating higher education.

Furthermore, this training has been successfully adapted for K–12 institutions – helping secondary students transition smoothly into college, while equipping younger students and teachers to collaborate on executive functioning skills and student-centered plans.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us as we step into this next chapter to create lasting impact.
