A New Tool for ADHD Coaches and their Clients

“Even the simplest tool can empower people to do great things.” – Biz Stone

We are pleased to announce the development of a new tool for life coaches and ADHD coaches to gauge the benefits of coaching for college students.  Co-developed by Jodi Sleeper-Triplett, this tool is the ADHD Benefits of Coaching Scale for College Students (ABCS-CS)*.

You may be asking yourself, what is this tool and how would it help me?  Fundamentally it is a self-reporting instrument designed to measure the benefits of ADHD coaching in college students.  It was developed to help coaches and their clients gather information at the end of the coaching partnership to measure the effectiveness of the coaching process.

We encourage our coaches to conduct a final feedback session with clients in order to wrap up the coaching relationship.  We advise them to take time with each student to discuss what worked, but also what did not work. Clients need this opportunity to share their learning and review the tools and strategies that they found most effective for them.  This feedback is valuable for both the coach and the client. Coaches will gain insight into their own coaching process which can help them deepen their coaching skills and in turn, their effectiveness with clients.

The ADHD Benefits of Coaching Scale for College Students (ABCS-CS)*is available to you – at no cost – so visit our website and get your copy today!

*Each of the students who participated in the development of this tool received ADHD coaching from coaches using the JST Model of Coaching.  The 10-item ABCS showed satisfactory internal consistency reliability and validity and differentiated between coached (n = 17) and noncoached groups (n = 192; p < .01).
